Gurdwara Bangla Sahib
Gurdwara Bangla Sahib is a pilgrimage destination of the Sikh community ,which is situated in Connaught place (New Delhi). The place where the Gurdwara is situated was once a bungalow of Raja Jai Singh Amber of Jaipur. Guru Sri Harkishan, the eighth guru of the Sikhs, stayed their during his Tour of Delhi in 1664.Bangla Sahib Gurudwara is the biggest Gurudwara in Delhi,it has a large main hall wuth marble flooring covered by a golden down with a sculpted bronze cupola. Gurudwara has a holy pond known as Sarover where devotees take a holy dip before entering the shrine. In the Main Hall special kind of hymn known as Gurubani is played continuous. If you are visiting Bnagla Sahib you must sit in this main hall for atleast half an our and listen Gurbani, you find that all tensions of your life are gone and can feel that God somewhere near us.After Completing your prayers , Don,t forget to eat parshada(Langar) , in the common Kitchen hall situated in the east side of Complex. Common Kitchen is a large hall where hundreds of devotee take food , here you can see ,rich or poor , young or old ,everyone is equal and eat parshada .The Quality and taste of this Parshada(Langer) is amazing ,you can,t find the same taste food in Delhi.
After Eating Parshada visitors can Enjoy the small market outside bangle sahib where one can get books related to Guru Gobind Singh , small articles etc.
